    Description

    Straight from our brass
    (and silver) instrument
repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked.  Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in
    good playable
condition. For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer's discretion to replace parts as desired.  We are proud to offer this refurbished instrument for sale.
We have tried to describe it as it is, and have shown what we can in the pictures allowed. We are happy to answer any questions asked.

Up for sale is a 1954 Ambassador made by FE Olds & Son Tenor Trombone, manufactured in Los Angeles, Calif. Dual slide bore .485/.500, with a 7 3/8" diameter bell flare.  The serial number on the horn is #116xxx.  It is made of yellow brass and has nickel silver accents.  There are various small dings and scratching throughout and pitting at the slide grips. The slide action is good; the slide tubes have been cleaned and honed, therefore, needs breaking in, but should get better with use.  The stockings are in very good condition but the stocking has one pin-head size wear-through on one upper.  There is excellent compression.
This instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish)
. This trombone comes with a used, what looks to be an original case in good condition with a used mouthpiece(may not be the one pictured). The Ambassador model has long been regarded as a very good student horn. However, it is a good Intermediate horn, very solidly made, with rugged construction.  It plays bright and has tons of  power, good intonation, slots well. It would be an especially good inexpensive jazz lead. Thanks for looking and check out our other items!
