Antique Powder Horn w/ 1885 Davy Crockett Inscription

The previous owner was steadfast until the day he died - believing this was a powder horn that belonged to the one and only famous Davy Crockett! Many times it was my job to inform him that he was wrong, and it was not something I liked to do - or did often! Apparently David Crockett never referred to himself as Davy, and the quote that is inscribed on this powderhorn was one of several published in the newspapers back then:
"Be sure your right than go ahead" (sic)
Condition is as seen int he enlargements! Notable wear to the end. 11 inches long.
