Description
This is a one-of-a-kind valve set made to fit a Conn bass trombone (or large tenor) bell section. It could be used with other brands simply by having a technician changeout the tapered, threaded shank. It was made by Robb Stewart in Los Angeles over 20 years ago using a Besson three-valve compensating valve section. It was seldom used. Depending on your bell section the end result could be either a four or five valve bass trombone. It's essentially a mini cimbasso, and I call it a "cimbassina." I had a foam-lined case made for it.I’m selling this because I developed “Embouchure Dystonia,” an unusual focal task-specific condition affecting the muscles that control the flow of air into the mouthpiece, so I can no longer play. I just want this fun piece to find a good home.
You may not be able to see them in the photos but for some reason the lacquer is peeling in several places. Otherwise it is flawless. I will send additional photos upon request.
Happy bidding and may God bless.
