    Description

Antique school book, "The Heath Reader" printed in 1903 and owned by Eula Belle (Johnson) Stafford and recovered from an antique store in Springfield, Greene, MO. On the inside cover is "Belle Johnson Book Prospect School Henry Young teacher for 1907". The name Belle Johnson appears written in pencil on several pages of the book.
Eula Belle Johnson's genealogy was researched (please see pedigree chart); however, an interesting find in the book is on a blank page with pin holes spelling out:
    Evert
    &
    Belle Christman.
I believe this refers to an Everett Jackson Chrisman who was slightly older than Belle and resided in the same location. No other names of Evert Christman or derivatives could be found. Also of note: Everett Jackson Chrisman also was an inmate in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in 1930; however, no additional research was completed.
The book itself has some damage due to age with the binding as well as some loose pages.
