    Really nice, particularly early, and very rare book, on the GENEALOGIES OF THE EARLY SETTLERS AND FAMILIES OF WATERTOWN, MASSACHUSETTS, A VERY EARLY & SIGNIFICANT NEW ENGLAND TOWN.
    A huge, original book, second edition, PUBLISHED IN 1860, very early for a history or genealogy book, written even before the Civil War. CONTAINS HISTORICAL INFORMATION ON ALL THE EARLY SETTLERS & FAMILIES OF THE TOWN. Contains both volumes in the one HUGE book, containing 1064 pages. Loaded with information about the subject, including pictures, signatures, and a couple of ABSOLUTELY GREAT FOLD-OUT MAPS.
    This is a very unusual book on a fascinating subject, and it is loaded with a great deal of early information. WOULD MAKE A GREAT REFERENCE BOOK ON THIS VERY EARLY TOWN. Especially nice since it is early and contemporary, with this edition coming out only in 1860, and THAT MUCH MORE INTERESTING SINCE IT WAS WRITTEN WITH FRESH, EARLY INFORMATION. A great variety of chapter content and details and information and content!!
    Hard cover. Pages are original from 1860, which is what matters, but it has been rebound more recently. Must have had a lot of use for reference. A very complete, very comprehensive scholarly (YET EASILY READABLE) reference for anyone, especially someone from Watertown. About 6 1/2
    " x 9 1/2" x 3" thick. A WHOPPING 1040 PAGES. Cover and binding are tight and pages are In excellent condition. THIS WAS (AND IS) A VERY IMPORTANT BOOK ON A VERY INTERESTING HISTORICAL SUBJECT.
    A VERY HARD TO FIND EARLY, HISTORY & GENEALOGY BOOK.  It
    would make a great and unusual gift for that special collector, any genealogist, or anyone from Watertown.  Extremely rare to find such an early reference book
