I have always liked seeing how people reproduce tsantsas and i have a number of 'fakes' myself. But Terry's really seemed to have gotten the detail and preparations correct. Beautiful pieces, and I congradulate him on such craftsmanship. I really enjoy looking at something as well done as his pieces." *Quoted with personal permition from James L.Castner Renon Author of SHRUNKEN HEADS : TSANTSA TROPHIES AND HUMAN EXOTICA and Private Collector of Authentic Tsantsas on 7-12-06 I do not use molds, and no two are alike which makes them as individual as real Tsantsas. ** It's likeness was refrenced from existing Shrunken Heads out of my friend James L. Terry Barr is the Worlds Best Realistic Tsantsa Artist Sought After in the USA and Around the World Today! The medium as always is of oven fired Super Polymer Clay. Super Polymer Clay does not chip or crack. It however looks more realistic as it ages. It is of actual size, thickness and weight of a true tsantsa and is a free hand sculpted original and signed by the Artist Terry O. Barr ! !
ACCURATE IN ANY LIGHT! !! All of our tsantsas are hollow.. Just as a real Shrunken Heads !! You can actually run your finger inside and feel the backs of the eyes, nose and mouth and it is boot laced inside and out like an actual Shrunken Head ! "To tell authentic tsantsas, experts look for signs that the work was done by someone other than a Jivaro. The Jivaro used heavy cotton string to sew the mouth and back of the neck closed, nothing else. On a true Jivaro shrunken head the lips also bear the marks of the chonta wooden pins used to seal the mouth during the preparation process along with balsa wood ash being rubbed onto the skin.
Again... This IS as REAL as it gets ..unless you own The Real Thing !
    Thanks for havin' a peep (o ) (o ) and Haunted Bidding!
