Description
?This is an ORIGINAL unknown brand stainless steel watchband, as sold in PX's and ship's stores to soldiers, sailors and airmen during WWII.  The advantage of stainless steel was not only durability, but its resistance to moisture, particularly in the hot, humid climates of Asia and the Pacific Ocean Areas of operation.  The two halves of the band have "tunnels" which permit the watchband to be attached to the spring bars between the watch's "lugs".  The band has a series of "keyholes" which permit the wearer to insert the "button" on the other half to fit the wearer's wrist.  The band also has a sliding "keeper" which slides over the loose end of the band, thereby preventing it from snagging clothing or other objects.  The 3/4" wide band is "universal" in size, accommodating either military or civilian watches of any size. The band is in used VERY GOOD condition and has only one small "dimple" in the metal, which would not be visible when worn.
