    Listed for your consideration is a 1931 certificate for Gertrude Gottschalk, issued by The Court of Common Pleas, the Public School District of the City of Allentown and Lehigh County, and the Americanization Bureau of Lehigh County and the City of Allentown, Pennsylvania. It certifies that
    Gertrude Gottschalk
    , an applicant for U.S. citizenship, attended the Americanization School in Allentown, was examined, and found to have completed a satisfactory course in citizenship training. The paper bears a seal and several signatures-- of judges, educational administrators, etc.
    This certificate is in good condition, but it has been rolled up for decades, so it has some crease lines. It has a few small tears and some light edgewear. The small tears are easily repairable from the back and probably wouldn't even show. The paper is of a high quality, heavier grade. The document was obviously considered important enough to warrant the extra expense. It has tanned a bit, with age, but still very supple, not brittle. Meant to last, and has. No odors. Non-smoking environment. A wonderful collectible!
    This item was purchased by a family member, at auction, in New York state, sometime in the 1960s. Since then, it has been carefully stored away. Hopefully now, it'll make it back to a family member, a collector, a Historical Society that will value it ... ! Thank you for your time!
