    Description

For sale: An extremely rare and truly collectible sweatshirt custom-made by Bill Silva Productions for Pearl Jam during the band's San Diego shows at the Sports Arena on November 6 + 7, 1995 during on their Vitalogy tour. They were rescheduled dates after the band canceled their original June 26 + 27, 1995 dates at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Bill Silva was the manager/promoter of the two shows.
There's a great story behind this: Leading up to the June shows, the Del Mar City Council was becoming more and more difficult to work with due to their increased safety concerns (beefing up security, hiring more private guards, etc), so Pearl Jam ended up canceling them and switching venues to the Sports Arena in November.
Eddie Vedder famously remarked: "Not to make enemies but it seems the officials in San Diego have overreacted, creating an impossible situation. It's a shame, really. Have a little faith, assholes." There was an article published in the Los Angeles Times about it (they omit the 'assholes' bit haha), I'd link to it here but eBay prohibits outside linking; you can find it if you Google it though.
    Anyway, w
hen the band showed up in November to play those shows, Silva had these sweatshirts made just for the band as a kind of tongue-in-cheek gift. We got this one from Bill himself.
It is a Billabong crewneck sweatshirt in size XL. 100% cotton. It is unworn and comes from a smoke-free environment. It measures 28" from top of collar to bottom of hem and 24" from armpit to armpit. See photos for condition and more detail.
