The history of plastic fantastic surfboards  from  ROBERT HIGHSMITH OWNER ,IN 1968 Danny Calohan, Dave Garner, and Jack  Ceritto created the most powerful STARTING LINE UP  of top surfers, shapers ,and glassers   in  the start of the shortboard revolution, in HUNTINGTON BEACH  CALIF, THEY WERE FEATURED  IN ALL THE TOP SURFING MAGAZINES, MOVIES AND TOURS  OF SURF SHOPS  ACROSS THE COUNTRY .they had top shapers , DANNY CALOHAN, BRUCE JONES, BILL FURY , DENNIS CHOATE,JIM TURNER  TO NAME A FEW, ADDING TOP SURFERS    WORLD FAMOUS JEFF  HAKMAN, JOCK SUTHERLAND ,GARY CHAPMAN TO NAME A FEW,  before long every top surf shop wanted to carry there boards and hop on the bandwagon. Then it happened,   some surf shops  didnt  pay for surfboards, and ad cost ran up, labor  cost went thru the roof , airlines,tickets around the country   bad checks coming in , girlfriends and pressure from   taxman   pushed it  over the top , to much to  handle  for skilled surfers, craftsman, a little short on the business side. MOVING TO 1972 I HAD A SHOP   ON  PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY  SURFCRAFT HAWAII and i bought out the company   , paid for it thru there attorney thomas whaling on main st  HB.i took it over cleaned up alot of loose ends and continued to build  PFS ,I HAD  JIM WAIDE , TERRY  MARTIN, ROBERT AUGUST, BILL ZURBROD, CORWIN RENO AND A HOST OF OTHER UP AND COMING SURFERS AND SHAPERS, BIZ WAS GOOD  KEPT ALOT OF SURFBOARD SHOPS  IN CALIF   =TEXAS- GULF STATES= THE WHOLE EASTERN COAST FROM   CAPE COD  in MASS ,, ALL THE WAY DOWN TO     FLORIDA, WHERE WE OPENED THE SURFBOARD WAREHOUSE  IN JACKSONVILLE BEACH  FLORIDA  remember new surfboards  on cost about 0   bucks  for a hand crafted work of art by a skilled craftsman.WE had the main shop on PCH  and was right in the heart of the  HB circus of 14 surfshops on pch  and main st . For years since then we keep  making our surfboards and t- shirts for friends and customers, with the sudden resurgence  of cool RETRO OLD SCHOOL  TIME TESTED SHAPES , WE ARE HAVING A GREAT TIME    , THANKS TO YOU ,  now with our action  page    on Facebook    PLASTIC FANTASTIC SURFBOARDS WE feature countless  photos,  stories  and great old school   memories      of a great time   years ago,  and we are still continuing  the saga  as we  make our boards on the west coast   -   gulf coast - and east coast factories  for you ,avg time 3 to 4 weeks-,always have t shirts and stickers available=======
