    Description

This is a limited edition (only 5 ever printed) quality giclee 8x10 inch photo from an original Velvia transparency of the late Ronnie Burns at the Banzai Pipeline, (Ehukai Beach) on a 15+ foot wave 1980's Haleiwa, north Oahu, by longtime Hawaii professional photographer Bill Romerhaus.
It is shrink wrapped (you can see at the bottom of the photo)
to protect it from damage, cropped, and
mounted on a single  8x10 inch mat board**which is included as part of the print that you can see here (see photo)
, and has photography and preservation tips included in the label on the back of
Hawaiian pro surfer and surfing legend Ronnie Burns bottom turning at the Banzai pipeline 1988. Ronnie was considered one of the all time
    best
Pipeline surfers during the 1980’s on the North Shore. He passed away in 1990 from complications of an off road motorcycle accident. Hopefully this photo will help preserve his memory in surfing history. Ronnie and his father ‘Bosco’ Burns (also a surfboard industry legend) have since passed away but will always remain in surfing history and were friends of the photographer.
Pipeline is one the more famous surf breaks in the world, and many professional contests are held there each year.  Its waves are some of the most powerful on earth, generated by far distant North Pacific Ocean storms during the winter months (Sept-March). They are an incredible example of the ocean's mightiness. Native Hawaiians, surfers, and a lot of oriental people consider these magnificent waves to be a supreme example of power and manifested with the spirit of mother nature. To actually see these waves breaking along the shoreline is an awesome, humbling, and unforgettable experience. Please note that it was shot on film and looks a little grainier than digital photo, and is still a very nice artistic image.
It would make a great birthday or holiday gift for someone who likes famous surf breaks, knew Ronnie, surfed here, or likes ocean images of Hawaii. They are popular reasonably priced decorations for restaurants, offices, homes, or stores where people can see them.
We're proud to mention that many of our photos were used as background artwork in the new CBS television network series "Hawaii 5-O". Our original photos are very popular and affordable to local people and tourists visiting Hawaii, as well as people who have never visited Hawaii and production costs are lower than most folks so we want to offer affordable quality art for people who might not otherwise be able to afford it. We feel we are preserving and promoting the history and culture of Hawaii to Kama'aina, visitors, and other folks at a reasonable price to display or share with others. With proper care it the manufacturer says it should last many years without fading if you carefully follow display instructions included on the label on the back of the print.  It is also available in 20x30 inch size unmounted.

    PLEASE ALSO NOTE:
e-Bay's transfer process and the computer screen may make the photo look contrasty and slightly darker or lighter, depending on your monitor brightness and contrast settings. The color hues may look slightly different and may have a different tonal range and brightness than you may see on your individual computer screen. Please be aware of this. When
    it is trimmed and
attached to the single mat 8x10 inch backing board you will be able to see the backing board around the borders of the print. It makes the print look like there is a margin at the top and bottom of the photo (which you can see if you look at the photo.) An 11x14 inch frame (or larger) with a custom cut mat from a frame shop or art store is the suggested way to display this photo.
Prints are permanently mounted to the acid free backing board using  archival photo adhesive and cannot be easily removed from the backing board without damaging the photo. If you want to use a larger frame and can't figure out how to do it with the photo mounted on the backing board, contact us and we can explain how it can be done. This is recommended for best visual and artistic impact in displaying this photo, although many people are happy using a standard 8x10 inch frame and displaying the image as is.
