Yellow brass. 7.5” bell flare. 20.75” long. Stem ID .740”. Would be great mated to a sub .500 bore horn (like a King 2B) or as the starting point for a custom build.
One small mark on the throat (see last photo). My best guess is that it was bumped on the spindle while buffing and was set aside to be fixed later. This was part of a stash of three Williams bells (this Model 4 bell and two Model 8s) like this that had small issues that needed to be repaired before they could be sold as new. Every manufacturer I have worked for (Shires, Schilke, Marcinkiewicz) had a stash of bells like this that need a little extra love.
My inclination is to leave these imperfections and the years of oxidation and let the new owners decide how to finish it. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!
